Fear of Missing Out — the anxiety-driven impulse to buy an asset because others appear to be profiting.
FOMO (Fear of Missing Out) in crypto describes the emotional state that drives impulsive buying during price rallies, token launches, or trending narratives. It's a significant driver of bubble dynamics — retail participants enter at price peaks, chasing gains they observe in others. Recognizing FOMO as a market signal (extreme FOMO often coincides with cycle tops) is itself a useful analytical tool.
