Also: cold storage, hardware wallet
Cold Wallet
A cryptocurrency wallet that stores private keys offline, disconnected from the internet.
Cold wallets — hardware devices like Ledger or Trezor, or air-gapped computers — keep private keys offline, making them inaccessible to remote attackers. They represent the gold standard for long-term asset storage. The tradeoff is convenience: every transaction requires physically connecting the device and manually authorizing. Cold storage is strongly recommended for any holdings beyond active trading capital.
